In this tennis season there are a number of Inter-Regional events scheduled. A Squad Development Session was held on Sunday 5th October 2008 at the Central Park Tennis Club in Horsham. The session commenced at 10.00 AM with coaching and skill development followed by lunch and match play in the afternoon. Lunch was provided and there was no charge for this session.

Similar to the last session, players have taken the opportunity to gain valuable guidance from coaches, experience singles and doubles match play and be considered for selection in this season's events.

Wimmera Teams have been selected at this session for the following events:

• The John Fitzgerald Cup for 13 and under boys (of or under the age as of 31/12/08); consisting of 4 boys; held on the 2nd & 3rd November at the Ballarat Regional Tennis Centre.
• The Foundation Cup for 13 and under girls (of or under the age as of 31/12/08); consisting of 4 girls; held on the 16th & 17th November at the Bairnsdale Tennis Club.
• The Ambassadors Cup for 15 and under boys and girls (of or under the age as of 31/12/08); consisting of 2 boys & 2 girls; held on the 7th & 8th December at the Horsham Lawn tennis Club.
• The Wayne Arthurs Cup for 10 and under boys and girls (of or under the age as of 31/12/08); consisting of 2 boys & 2 girls; held on the 13th & 14th December at the Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club.
