Rising Wimmera motocross competitor Cory Watts put competition second and sportsmanship first when a fellow rider fell off his motorbike while competing in the final round of the Western Region Motocross Championships at Colac last year.

Cory held a handy championship lead in the junior 65cc under-12 B Grade going into this last race, but gave it up to stop and assist his fellow clubman Jack Mentha who had crashed on the third corner and was pinned under his bike.
