Josh Pahl wins the Dags Quality Screen Printing and Hip Pocket Workwear Sports Star Of The Month Award for June 2007
Winner for the month of June is Edenhope Golfer Josh Pahl who recently triumphed in the Wimmera Golf Junior Championships held at the Drung Golf Club. Playing off a handicap of 12, Josh fired an 82 to score the title ahead of many other worthy young golfing contenders.

He will now go with eight other Wimmera team mates to the regional golf championships in Seymour in a fortnights time. Wimmera Junior Liaison Officer Michael Bates says that, “Josh has the talent and the determination to do really well at golf and as part of the Wimmera Junior Development Program we will be taking him to Country Week in October as a caddie so he can experience the next level of competition.”
Last year Josh took out the Senior Wimmera District B Grade Champion of Champions title after having qualified by winning his own club’s B Grade Championship.

He also won the Edenhope Golf Club’s coveted Summer Cup competing against all members on all handicaps. Suffering from juvenile arthritis and chronic asthma has not held Josh back – he plays Under 17 country week cricket for Casterton and senior cricket for Edenhope, rides in the Murray to Moyne and is a lifeguard at the Kowree Sports Centre.
This year Josh has also completed the Active After Schools Community Coach accreditation and leads sporting and physical activity sessions in the program which runs two nights a week at Edenhope P-12. This Australian Sports Commission Program, which is running in 21 schools in the region, is providing great opportunities for primary school students be become more active.
