Walktober Walk-to-School is on again in 2009!
VicHealth invites all primary schools across Victoria to take part in the annual event on Wednesday 21 October.
Last year 322 primary schools across Victoria participated in the event with over 60,000 children walking to school on the day – this is an increase of over 100 schools and 21,000 children that participated compared to the Inaugural event in 2006. |

Schools that have previously participated in Walk-to-School report the day:
Encourages more children to walk to school;
Gives families and neighbours the opportunity to form new relationships and ongoing informal support within local communities;
Installs confidence in many parents by showing them that their children can walk safely to school; and
Demonstrates that walking to school is achievable!
All Victorian primary schools have been sent an information kit.
If you would like one sent to you please register your details at www.vichealth.vic.gov.au/walktober (under Information Pack & Resources section)
