After several months in operation, the new Liquor Licencing compliance
Inspectors have identified several basic errors being carried out by Wimmera
Clubs.
- Not being able to produce a copy of the clubs red-line plan. ( this is a scale
Copy of the clubs licensed area urrounded by a red line, and would have been submitted when last applying for your license).
- Not keeping a copy of the red-line plan.
- Not displaying the required notices. (These are available from me at the
Assembly office, and relate to liquor Licensing.)
- Not displaying your current License or permit.
- *Supplying liquor other than in accordance with the hours or conditions of your license.
- Not having a visitors book in which non members can be signed in as a
guest of the club.
These are all basic, simple and MUST be complied with.
Another thing that clubs must be aware of, is the compliance history risk fee.
If, the club is convicted of one of the following offences
- Supplying alcohol to a minor.
- Permitting a minor on the premises.
- Supplying alcohol to an intoxicated person.
- Permitting a drunk and disorderly person on the premises.
An additional penalty fee in excess of $3000 dollars for one offence, and
$6000 for two or more offences will be added to next years License Fee.
This will be calculated on the period of 12 months up to Oct 1. 2110.
Please ensure that your club keeps up to date on the many changes that
may effect you by registering to get on the mailing list of “the Grapevine”
which is the official newsletter for Victorian Liquor Licencees.
This can be done by going to: www.justice.vic.gov.au/alcohol
This is now perhaps the best source for clubs to keep up with their
obligations as holders of a Liquor Licence. It is free and is quarterly and
may assist your club to at least try to update and remain abreast of required
information.
