News from Liquor Licensing Seminar for Sporting clubs held at Horsham Community Sporting Club June 23rd June 08

• New 5 year police plan to “Restoring The Balance” for the State, which will tighten up legislation and enforcement of the law regarding alcohol and clubs.
• 15 new Liquor Licensing inspectors will be employed to cover the state to check and enforce that clubs are abiding by the laws relevant to their individual Licenses.
• Tighter restrictions on licensed hours for clubs when underage members are present.
• Increase in fines, particularly involving underage drinking offences.
• Greater attention and heavier fines on parents purchasing liquor for the consumption of underage children outside the home.
• The requirement to have a copy of your RSA certificate on site when working at a booth or bar for your club.
