The Wimmera Regional Sports Assembly’s new Chair Jeff Pekin is looking forward to assisting the organisation to become a real resource for sport, recreation and physical activity.

Pekin has proven credentials in both the sport and leadership area.  He is a fierce competitor on the table tennis table and has provided the Horsham Table Tennis Association with many hours of volunteer support and inspiration. 

Pekin believes in the importance of using sport, recreation and local networks as a way of creating the social connection needed to make people feel a part of local community.

Pekin takes over the reins from Mary Raynes, who has moved to Sydney to take up a position with Sygenta CropScience an exciting national position.

Other elected members to the general committee include Murray McKenzie, Kent Taylor, Dalton Burns, Greg Schultz, Rachel Hateley and Mary Lu Amos

Shire Councils and Primary Care Partnerships have been sent invitations to appoint a representative to serve on the General Committee.
